Summer is a great time for most of us but we should not forget that our pets can suffer in the heat if we don't take the right precautions.  It can be easy to overlook the effects of the heat, particularly if your pet is obviously enjoying being out with you and having fun.  Here are some top tips to keep in mind for your pets over the warmer weather.

Keep your pet out of the sun during the hottest hours of the day or provide a shady area to retreat to.
Dogs can't sweat, they pant to cool themselves down. 
 

Water!
A constant supply of fresh cool water is a must.  Try putting icecubes in the bowl to keep it cooler for longer.  Or try freezing an icecream container full of water for longer lasting cool water.
